Definetly good racing. I see that the cobra R is on slicks or a racing tire with other work and the zo6 is stock?

Thanks for the vid Will smile.gif

The Guy in the cobra could definately drive. It was obvious the Z06 was driving in his mirrors. It was amazing how much more power the Z had (absolutely walking away in 4th and 5th down both straights, and how much better a driver (with better brakes and Tires) the Cobra was.

The Z driver looked scared in both the Kettle Bottoms and Canada corner.

The best was the Cobra driver throwing his hands up in the air near the end as if to say fuck that LS6 power only to have the Z let off to let him go.

Driving in your mirrors at RA in a DD Vette equals BAD things. VERY bad things. He was smart to let the driver go.

Hi Saleen -

Thanks for the vid!

That was cool - that is the only track I have ever taken laps on (as a passenger), so it was fun to go 'round it again!

cobra driver was definitely being held up in the turns - the vette driver could have learned from the cobra's lines....

best regards -

I'm not sure the mods on both cars but I'm pretty sure the Cobra R is a track car only.

That'd make a great instructional video of "what to do" and "what not to do" at Road America! If ya can't beat'em in the corners... flat out leave'em in the straights! BUT! Don't let'em catch up again! vette.gif

It looks a helluva lot different in the dry. I still vividly remember being there and having rivers of water running across the track. No bueno!

And who said a Mustang can't take turns? tongue.gif That was pretty cool. Cobra seemed to be able to stay on his ass, maybe even creep up on the vette in the straights, especially when he was able to anticipate the jump. Otherwise, yeah.... I'd have admit that the Vette seem to have him everytime on the straights up top. Is that contributed to aerodynamics or topend power?

My interpretion of what aqua pointed out about the guy throwing his hands up near the end was his frustrations of being blocked in the corners and being out powered in the straights. laugh.gif Like he was pissed that he couldn't overpower the Vette in the straights. Also, I say that was a track only Stang vs a modded Vette with stock suspension. Hey JB, how do you think you'd fair against that Stang? I think you'd eat him but I'm curious as to what your thoughts are. naughty.gif

My opinion.... If the Cobra driver were driving as aggressively as the Vette, he would have passed the Vette along time ago, possibly even on the straights.

Nice Vid.
Thanks!

I think I've driven on the track with the Cobra R driver before, he is good. But he had race tires and the Z didn't. The guy with the Z damn near lost it twice, definitely taking it to the limits of his tires, and his lines were questionable at points. The Cobra driver needs to keep his hands on the steering wheel a little better too, sliding the left hand over the top next to the right hand is a bad habit.

Fun video to watch. headbang.gif

(Digging through my in car videos, I think this is the same Cobra R, he and the Mazda RX7 had dedicated track cars. If they were staged at the start in front of me, I could keep up but not pass, and vice versa, if I was staged before them it was the same deal. Fun guys to drive with, sorry for the bad camera angle.)

Hahahahaha, from that camera angle it looks like you were driving sideways all the way around the track. Good racing though. drivings.gif drivings.gif

With long straights like that, I'd get a good jump on the Cobra, even if all I did was just stay with him in the turns...

Nice vid!!
