Hey yall, I'm new, obviously smile.gif
I'm Sallie, I'm 19 and I drive a black c5 convertible 6spd, an '04 navigator and a lifted dodge. And no.. Daddy didn't buy it for me, which is something I hear everyday that's very annoying. So I figured I'd get that out of the way early happy.gif I have very expensive taste but I work to accomodate that

I ride/train/show horses in jumping and dressage.. that's my first love. I've done the big time, I've competed in the highest rated shows in the US and have dabbled in international competions aswell.

Well that's just a little about me, here's some pics.. sorry they're so big though biggrin.gif

Don't appologize for that ... My wife used to train horses also... She was a barrel racer... Damn good $$$ in that too... I wish she could still do it but it's too hard on her...

Welcome to the site... We're pretty informal around here... drinkers.gif

An old friend's wife shows horses around the Ohio circuit. She's made good money.

I have a weakness for black verts for some reason. willy_nilly.gif

Damn nice stable of vehicles you have there. Got any mods on them?
vette0083
Thanks guys! Yeah the horses is where I make most of my money. It's also what I love so it just works out great! biggrin.gif

The Navigator is completely stock, thinking about putting some wheels on it though; the Dodge has a lift kit (done RIGHT w/no blocks or anything, it has the rear springs and all), 35 inch tall tires, exhaust that dumps behind the cab, a shift kit, and probably some more things that I'm forgetting; the Vette has a few, like a short throw shifter, comp programmer, hurricane intake.. things like that, BUT I've had some of them sitting here in my living room for months, b/c it's awaiting a new clutch (too many burnouts! and we smoked the clutch bad one time in particular at a car show in Branson MO) AND 2nd gear is out of it. Which is terrible b/c it started getting bad somewhere between 15,000 and 18,000 miles. We're thinking about just putting a performance transmission in it though. I dunno... I just want it to be back in working order so we can catch a good 2nd gear again! Haha.. "girls just wanna have fun." wink.gif

Nice rides there, sucks that the "Vette needs a tranni, sounds like you are a little hard on it.

Haha.. no I'm not a drug dealer tongue.gif I work like everyone else

Well, me and the skip shift don't get along, I didn't follow the instructions in the manual and I never had it unplugged and didn't get my computer programmer that'll eliminate it until AFTER the damage was done. 1st to 4th is just so boring, but oh well, I'm paying for it now blush.gif Maybe one day I'll learn to follow directions!

cooltc.. Thanks, I appreciate the thought anyway wink.gif
SleepieAce
Not that I would suggest anything, but the skip shift is deleted in the PCM with the tuning for a supercharger...

heres some info on eliminateing the skip shift. It looks like all you need is a resitor which you can get for praticly nothing.
vette0083
Oh yeah.. I've been told many ways to get rid of it since I bought the car. The GM dealerships around here actually tell everyone that brings in a corvette that they recommend you unplug them (which costs nothing) and then I know you can buy the actual eliminator that's like $20 or $30 and I have a comp. programmer that will get rid of it. And Sleepie.. it just so happens that I've been talking to a local dealer about the possibility that a procharger might mysterisously end up under my hood cool.gif
BLK1985
Damn I wish I was rich.

You could unplug the skip shift but most people I talk to that have done that says thats not the way to go. But since you have th programer you dont have to worry about that.
vette0083
I was told by somebody that it throws engine codes if you just unplug it. I'm not an expert by any means so I don't know if that's true or not, but I have always intended to use my programmer to eliminate it. The reason it hasn't been done yet is b/c we've left the programmer on it's "recommended" setting and haven't messed w/it.. only installed it like it came. I'm waiting to add any more hp to it until I get my new clutch installed, I don't think this one will take much more abuse. It won't be any time soon unfortunately, b/c before we do anything else we've got to pay sales tax on a new 2005 Dodge Ram 1 ton dually diesel truck that we went crazy and bought last weekend blush.gif

I have the experience to personally recommend the Procharger. I also have the experience to say that if you get one, get a kit from ECS (one of the forum sponsers). They are much better than ATI's standard kit. I wish I'd known about them before I bought mine. drinkers.gif
