I'm aware of what they run. Do you know what I'm running in my vette? It has no computer. It weighs under 2900. We'll have to see how well it hooks up on the street. Seems like it takes a while to twist that car up. My Holley dominator is ready at the mash of the gas.

I've seen Evo's run mid 10's. They sound like a raped ape. HUGE hair dryers. Set on kill. Can't last long. I could always spray a 300 shot. Wouldn't last long either. I'd rather have a slower (11's are o.k. with me) car that can be run all day long, week after week, month after month......

The Z06 that raced Chris's Evo raced wasnt turbo, I was in the car, I know. It has a Procharger P1SC, A&A Forged Shortblock, AFR 225's, blower cam, RWTD Tune. Anyway, the Evo that has been posted here is the AMS shop car. They have run it on one lap of america, so it must stay together decent. Would a really nicely setup V8 last longer? Yep. They are a shop, they dont give a damn if it blows up. Nothing wrong with 40 psi on a street tune, just gonna need lots of race gas, heheh. The AMS shop car has run a 9.5@152 now and did 775 at the wheels not long ago, no nitrous. My friend Chris's Evo, the one in all of the videos will be visiting AMS again soon, he has the 2.3, not the 2.0 like the shop car, so it shouldnt be as laggy.

There are alot of local cars chomping at the bit to run him, so we will see. He has beat the shit out of it so far on 35 psi and it hasnt had a problem. Good build, good tune, healthy diet of race gas. Yea, having to use race gas sucks, then again it's safer, thats for sure, he could probably do it on pump gas with methonal, he will be putting a kit on soon, so we will see but I think he is gonna use race gas with it.

Evo will probably creep a 1/2 a car length but won't have enough to catch him by shutdown. Now if he sprays, the T/A might be in trouble.

I have to give it to the EVO. Thats a lot of power through its drive train. It likely has 20% drive train loss with all wheel drive. That being said that is not a street car at 40PSI at 20 PSI ok. At 40 PSI thats a race car. Was that on c16 very likely. Anyways thats a crazy fast little rocket. Take the roof off and its a Bike

Getting vortech s/c. comming next Spring. Putting it up 4 winter. We will have snow in 3 weeks. its already 30% at night. burr.

I'll be putting mine up here in the next couple weeks. I sure hope the snow doesn't come for at least 2 months. The lowest it got here was 39 at night. Well this is time to do mods thats they only good part of it.

The 98 Cobra has already ran a 6.8@102 in the 1/8 and is making alot more power now, it's made upper 600's as far as I know and I think he wants to make in the 700's.

The 347 Notchback is already in a video running broke in the 03 Cobra with the ported eaton and nitrous, the Cobra lost by half a car. The notch is gonna have to step it up and he plans on it, he has been talking about spraying it.

The TransAm isnt a big block, it's an LS1 car, big stroker and alot of nitrous, he just took it to the track and destroyed his TH350 on the first pass.

The AMS shop car has run the 9's@156, I dunno if Chris's is gonna be that fast or not at the track. It's gonna make alot of power and should move good from a low roll or even a little higher roll. Thats what is gonna make it interesting with the other cars. It's getting a turbo similar to if not just like the one thats on the shop car and it has a bottle, he is probably going to run less boost though.

As far as the shop car being a race car, I have seen Cobras take the headlight out on the street. They probably drove it around in track trim but either way, 40 psi doesnt mean race car and neither does race gas. It's no different than people trying to run Torco all the time. Chris's Evo made it from Florida to Chicago more than once so I would say it's a damn street car!

I have raced that car. In the One lap and no the car didn't stay together at all. In fact the car was so fucked up he was spilling coolant all over the track every where he went. It was the Evo spitting fluid that caused me to spin.

The owner is an alright guy, but his car is a true piece of shit. Reminds me of any fast DSM, good for a couple fast passes then it's broken.

You must be referring to the AMS shop car and not Chris's black street Evo as he has never run in One Lap. These cars also dont seem to be near as bad as DSM's. I would imagine a 4 banger with 8000000000 psi would have it rough on One Lap but so do ALOT of cars.

Yeah and I could say it is sad that you need 4 more cylinders and forced induction to bet a 4 banger... You can make power diffrent ways, don't hate be cause you need twice the motor and a blower...

And there are alot more Vettes then Evos in this world too. There should be more Vettes that are faster then Evos, if not then it would be pretty sad...

I don't hate. I just think that EVO's sound like crap and are unreliable when you depend on that much boost. I've gone high 10's NA @ 130 and probably faster with a smaller almost stock engine with a blower. You can make ANYTHING fast. I prefer to have instant power and torque.

I wonder how many high mileage modded EVO's you'll see in a few years.. probably not many. I doubt they'll make it that far.

I think thats why Chris's black Evo has gotten so much attention, they just arent cars that are usually THAT fast, especially from a roll. I will say this, his car has been reliable. It has made a trip from Chicago to here, to Orlando from here, back to Chicago and will be driving back. It also has seen 33-35 psi everytime it has been brought out and nothing has broken. It spools pretty fast too. The new setup, I dunno, it will be interesting.

I have had my Evo going on 3 years in Feb. It has about 40k miles on it and about 35k of those miles the car has been running mid 11's@120+. The motor is stock besides the cams. The cars has gone on many of road trips over 1000 miles and is my daliy driver. So I would say its pretty reliable. With that kind of MPH, AWD drivetrain loss, and the weight of the car I would guess I am making around 430ish awhp, it never has been on a dyno so I cant say for sure. I think dynos are for pussy anyways, the track tells the truth about how good your power curve is.

What keeps the headgaskets from exploding with 35 - 40 psi's of daily driven boost? I know a few people running 15psi's and going through gaskets like crazy.
