Buzzard this is a long video, but you road race so you gotta check this street driven Corvette against a totally race Elise I mean the whole race car thing you'll see it. this video really puts in prespective what a Corvette is capable of in non race trim.

Hey Buzzard, did you lik how he was gonna pass, but didn't have enough hp/tq to do it. And then the Elise got left bad after that. I was yelling at the computer don't let him by you, then oops my son was taking a nap, my girl said ssshhhh. I said f^ck that the Vette was gonna get passed.lol If you watched the whole thing you know what I'm talking about. :aaevil: :aacool: I doubt if the Vette was street tires.

Yes, I saw that, I was wondering if the vette was playing with him. The vette was getting him hard and then he seemed to catch up all of a sudden, the the vette just left.

I lot of people don't realize that the stock C5 suspension is very close to the C5Rs. The upper A's are different, to get more chamber and the shocks and sways are firmer, and that is about it. They did widen the C5R's but that is all in the tires, the frame and suspension is largely stock. The roll cage does make it slightly stiffer, but all in all they are very close.

Having a lot of years in road racing in a lot of different cars, including open wheel (Formulae Ford), the off the shelf Corvettes of today are simply the best of the street. Straight line performance is better than 98% of the off the shelf cars, couple that with the handling (With good tires) all adds up to fun.

What I like is pulling into a track towing my little trailer, and a quick tire change and fun-city on a road course, or slip on a set of DRs and a night at the drag strip is under way. The best part? When it is over, I put the streets on crank up the tunes and cruise!

I doubt he had streets, but I did see a couple of shots where he had some wiggle out of the turns and the other car seemed pretty stable.

When he decided he had enough of the games and took off, my jaw dropped and I let out such a laugh! It was incredible ! I mean the way that Vette just disappeared !! Who the hell was driving that Vette, David Blaine !? David Blaine himself couldn't have pulled off a better disappearing act then that Vette ! I loved it. Nice Vid

I would hate to burst your bubble so to say but The new elise that only has 200 HP runs 12.0's in the 1/4. Now from a roll it wouldn't beat a C5 but from a stop in the 1/4 it would

data source would be car and driver . They test drove it and had a show on the car. If it wasn't car and driver it was road and track.

I searched , this is all I got . Nice 0-60 #'s which put it close with its weight BUT none claim 1/4 #'s.

Hmmm I will try to find it. I am sure I know a guy that will have the info on the car since he always has all the wrap on the new import super and exotic cars. The one I was talking about wasn't the american version however i think they are the same. I remember them saying something about the exhaust and the car not being legal to drive in germany because of it. I am almost certain it was the car and driver show though.

Awesome vid, watching that C5 pull up the anchor and smoke that elise after he had been gloating about catching up was too much.

I wonder at the mods on the C5, is it really stock or what?
