There were two runs, this was the second run, hopefully my friend makes a bigger video soon, he just threw this up today. The Notch did a burnout at like 120 MPH! Im glad I was in the chase car and not riding haha!

With cars that fast the race is over QUICK! They were gonna run up higher but the notch was all over the place. I dunno if the Evo could have passed em because another 10-15 MPH comes fast when you are running cars like that.

Everbody knew the Evo would be coming for em up top, the question is could he pass em before the race is over. Evo has a nitrous kit to spoolup in the mid range but wasnt used because it's a ZEX kit and never works most of the time.

Notch ran a 6.1@116.5 and has been 117.8 MPH, he only had a 1.49 60 ft on the 6.1 pass, off of the footbrake, so the car can run a bit faster. He changed some stuff since he ran it at the track, mini tubbed it, went to 325 MT Radials, anti roll bar, put a cage in it and did some street tuning with it. The car should run 5.8's or so.

Close race! Looked like the Stang having some traction issues. Looked like some smoke from Stang at end?

47 psi ... that's nuts! I don't see that motor lasting very long if he runs that boost all the time.

42 PSI, they ran twice, first run was on 38 psi. The Mustang does usually smoke on the top side, it's built loose for a blower and nitrous. Some was tire smoke but not all.
DarthVetter
Yes I have seen the FI cars with the smoke before, something to do with rich under boost, I guess it helps with cooling. That's very strong to smoke tires at those speeds. Quite the sleeper he has there, I like that! biggrin.gif

That is still some scary boost even at 38. They must build those motors out of titanium!

I think the notch would have really handed it to the evo w/ some traction.

Damn. ohmy.gif

You guys have an AWD dyno in Pensacola? Or did you disconnect the forward drive for a standard dyno?

903hp is pretty amazing. I guess they've brought the 4G63 quite a ways since I last looked at them. Course, that was back in the day when you could only outfit them with a Frank and maybe get 500hp out of them reliably.

No, the car was built, tuned and dynoed at AMS in Chicago on their AWD dyno. He ran the car against some bikes from 45-170 or 180 MPH 3-4 times in a row last night with no cool down. It's holding up insane for what it's been through. C16 and methanol help! biggrin.gif

Here is a video of the notch from the track the other night http://www.corvettekillstories.com/forum/i...?showtopic=5919

Oh, so the Stang did shutdown at top end. Thank god for V8 torque and no lag boost for that stang because that Evo was coming!

What I want to know is how the Freaking Evo's tranny can handle 903hp to the wheels!?!? Is it a factory tranny? I think that's just as insane as it running 47 psi of boost. I don't think any car manufacturer, especially one that produces a 4 banger, ever intended it's tranny to hold that much horsepower. I bet these guys have Mitsubishi saying "What the fuck???" and "How in the hell....???" right about now. laugh.gif

Hey, the curb weight for those Evo's are like 3,300lbs and the WRX STI is like 3,400lbs. What's that Notch weighing offically? Curb is around 3,100/3,200?

Damn, someone should come out with an AWD kit for the Stang! The Fox Chassis stang that is.... Todays Stangs don't need anymore help in the Weight department these days. It kind of sucks to know that you have the power to run with this Evo but not the traction to compete with the Evos AWD. Hats off to the
Evo and all 47psi of boost it's running.

Yea, I dunno what would happen if they ran to 150 but ran on better pavement where the notch could hook better. Evo is running 42 psi, 38 most of the time, not 47 but who's counting haha. biggrin.gif Stock transmission with an Excedy clutch. The stock axles and transmission are why he isnt really beating on it from a stop right now. The Notch weighs 3080 with driver.

Great video.

I've got to study turbos better. 40+lbs?

I simply don't understand why and how.
