I'm not so sure about that. A base C5 with a procharger at 7 psi should be running roughly 525 HP at the crank and the intake may add a few horses also. I would think the C5 would also have a higher and flatter torque curve, and it's lighter. This partilular C5 has exhaust also, so I'm confident in 550 HP at the crank. This is probably conservative, since I don't knwo what other mods are in place.
'03 Cobra runs about 400 at the crank stock I believe. It would depend on what pulley you were running. I'm not real familiar with the Cobras but I'm going to take a guess the stock boost is about 6 or 7 psi? So to match the Vette motor for motor you would need to boost up to what, about 9 or 10 PSI?
Then you have to start looking at gear ratios and weight. So I don't think it is as simple as saying a Cobra with a pulley swap will beat a SC Vette. For that matter, what if the Vette changes pulley? Even given the Vette as it sits, this wouldn't be a case of anyone blowing anyone's doors off. It would just be a close race, that's all.

i have a couple of things that i want to say. first i didnt come on this forum to start crap with anybody. i have respect for any car because that is what the owner could only afford. that vid that you just showed me was a cobra with just an exhaust not with nitrous and in case you didnt know that vette that he was racing was a c5 and if i remember correctly they have 346ci. not 350 like the LT1's. 2nd, that chick ran 12.2 @ 113. when i first bought my 03 all i did was put a lightning pulley on it with a set of nitto drags and ran 11.8 @ 117 with 440 rwhp. if i beat you by a half a car that would be getting your doors blown off because winning is winning. i didnt even mean to be mean about it. it was just the fact that she stated that she spanked a mustang. I have no problem with vettes but the funny thing i see is that i paid a little over 30k for mine and i spank people who spent near 50k on their new c6. i really like the new z06 for just the fact that it costs 25k less than the viper and is faster.

Well, the vid states that the Cobra has intake and nitrous in addition to exhaust. Maybe it doesn't. But that's what the vid states, I'm just going by that.
I use the term "350" generically to refer to SBC motors prior to the C6, sorry for the confusion.
So that's good you don't want to start any crap, neither do I or anyone else, this is not that kind of forum. I was just responding to your original post, which I believe without the explanation you just provided, reasonably appeared to be a stab at chick, who has done a fine job of modding her car and is probably and rightfully proud of that 12.2 run. And in fact she did stomp a Mustang in that vid, which is what we Vette guys enjoy of course. Your statement without any context had an implication like this: "don't be so proud, a Cobra with just a simple pulley swap would put your pitiful Vette to shame despite all the mods you have done." Never mind that the same simple pulley swap would be equally effective on chick's vette. Just ask ForceFedC5, he can provide some substantial insight into FI 346's.
I think getting your "doors blown off" is something on the scale of what chick did to that Mustang in the vid. A half car pull is not quite as dramatic as your original terminology infers to most folks, I suppose. That would be something more along the lines of "close race", as I stated.
OK, so you explained yourself and I have too, hopefully all is well. Thanks for the clarification and welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing some more of your posts.

11.8 @ 117 with nitto drags and when did i say I'll blow your doors off. I simply said any 03/04 cobra with a pulley swap can blow her doors off but i realize i was being an a$$ when i said that. where do you guys get the pride of a vette beating a stang. i get that pride for 1 the vette is a lot more money and it is a 2 seater and it is a lot smaller. you guys should get pride out of beating vipers or ferraris or something. and as far as where i am located right now i am on vac. in indiana but i live in central florida. put it to you this way last week i raced a c5 with heads cam and a 427stoker with a 150shot and he got his a$$ handed to him. i would have to say that car made a little over 600rwhp. my cobra has a little over 700. i never said or will say i have the fastest car because a vette with 700rwhp will murder me.

This post was by chick to share her enjoyment of another step in getting a little closer to having her dream car. This is not the right thread to initiate a discussion about whether a Cobra or any other car could beat chick, especially not with an agressive posture. That discussion would be welcome on this forum if posted as a separate thread, and it might be lively, but it wouldn't be ugly.

OK, the first thing you need to do is hit the "edit" button under your last post, then quick edit, and take your statement out of the middle of the quote. Took me a minute to figure out what you had done there. 
Then you need to click on "My controls" across the top right of the screen there. Once you are in there, look around on the menus, you will see one for editing your signature.
To post a picture, you will have to have the picture file uploaded to a host somewhere. If you have an e-mail account, you probably have some amount of personal webspace associated with your account. You can also purchase personal webspace from CKS for a very reasonable hosting fee.
Right click on my picture and hit properties, you will see what a picture file URL looks like, "http// www.corvettekill stories.com/gallery/albums/mypic" for example.
Once you have your pic file uploaded, in your signature space you go into edit mode and click on the "IMG" tag in the options menu above the edit dialogue box. When you click on IMG it will pop up a box. Type or paste the URL pointing to your pic file into this box and save. Then save your signature file. The forum software does the rest.

We don't know who he is, some drifter like David Banner except without the huge green muscles when you make him angry. He blew through over a couple weeks and hasn't been seen since - I wonder if Chick had anything to do with that?

The reason i asked because about 8 months ago i got an email from a screen name called mustang freak saying he lived near me and he wanted to race to see who the real King (haha) of the town is. I emailed him back but i never got a response and he was really cocky in his email thats all. Its just ironic that he said he has an 03 cobra with the same mods as mentioned in this forum so its gotta be him. I really wanted to see him run one of you guys though because i seen that somebody challenged him but he never responded.
Well. could be. On the other hand, I bet there are a lot of "Mustang Freaks" out there on the web. This guy after making this slightly irrational series of posts went on to make a few sensible ones so he seemed like he was a reasonable sort of fellow in the end.
I was hoping Zoom Z might be willing to run him (500 HP 402 with double 150 shots).
I think sometimes dudes with limited experience think their own car "feels" like it has to be the fastest one out there. This guy seems like one of these maybe.
