I drive my car EVERY DAY - and never run across anything - I complain about this all the time..... It is quite an adjustment from living up in philly where you can get a street race with my 85 year old grand mother on the blvd .....

So i am constantly calling on my slower buddy down here in slower delaware (bear, but close enough), but he is constantly coming up with excuses like "my intake is not on the car", or "my door panel is off because i broke my little window motor"... just all kinds of excuses.

Anyway, called him yet again on this beautiful day to see if he wanted to come out and play - and yet again his mommy said he couldnt (or something like that)... So i just went along my merry way south......

Jumped on rt 13 at boyds corner to stop and get my wife some green apple twizzlers and started down rt 13 (usually take the highway all the way home).. for those who know the area, stopped right at gray lag road (light after the wawa).... The good weather gods were shining down as the bright RED 06 (think?) viper comes out and turnes down 13s. I caught his attention and he slowed up a bit and waited for me.

Got next to him and he immediatly dropped the hammer... I anticipated it and jumped on it in 2nd - spun it up pretty good and kept on truckin until about 120 or so (had about 2 cars on him)....

Slowed back down and it turns out he was my old neighbor and he recognized my car... couldnt believe the ass whoopin i just handed him - had to go again. he jumped on me down low (those things have some TQ..) but i caught him before he shut it down....

this little run in gave me my fix for now.... (adrenaline is still runnin)

I cant believe i am getting rid of this car - but know these little burst of fun can easily cost me my license and lots o cash

Mods are procharger and headers.

Nice kill! What year/type Vette are you running? I live in DE and don't see enough Corvette around!

2000 pewter frc.

looks pretty much stock - just lowered a bit and all the emblems/letters are filled/smoothed. most people dont even notice, but it makes it alot easier to clean and looks cool (imho)

where about's in de?

Nice job! Vipers get so use to kicken' Vette butt, that they need a little ass whoopin' once in awhile.

I thought the Procharger wouldn't fit under a stock C5 hood???

Procharger, Vortec and Novi all fit under the stock hood....

When you start talking roots type like the Maggie and KB - they need a highrise/bubble type hood (some just cut the hood and let them peek out)

Nice kill on the viper man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that must have been sweet..

You must be right around 450 rwhp and 3300 pounds to pull that snake by 2 cars like that. Since he's 440 rwhp and 3400 pounds if he's bone stock..

SWEEEET..

But man you got me a little worried now. Ive got a race coming up with a 3500 pounds LS1 camaro that has a procharger and long tubes. He should be about the same power as you. And im 440 rwhp like the one you raced..

MAN IT'S GONNA BE REALLY CLOSE. Well atleaste he's not the lighter C5 or id be getting pulled by 2 cars like you demonstrated.

My last dyno showed 517RWHP, but i put long tubes on since then - but havent had it re-dyno'd yet.

I was actually surprised it was as close as it was, but he may have had work done to it as well, dont know - diddnt ask... usually do, but only if they whoop on me smile.gif

You have to be careful with procharger car's, their are so many different kits and what not - i know on stock c5's power can range from mid 400's to low 600's at the wheels depending on how aggresive people go with it. I think you are in trouble smile.gif

DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man if he's around 500 rwhp like you then im in big trouble..LOL

Ive got a stand aloe AEM computer that should put me around 460/500 once installed ina week or two..but that may still not be enough.

But I also have plans for a paxton in the future. suppossedly good for 700-900 rwhp on my car..Of course it's 15 grand installed though..LOL, so it'll be a while

Challenge him to a road course. You would have the handling advantage, plus FI cars frequently have temperature problems when running extended periods.
