Just got some Long tube headers installed and was quite happy with the numbers. picked up 20 whp and a 20 tq... dynoed on a dyno dynamics...

anyway I was out crusing with some of my 350 freinds on the way back from a show, and had the chance to run a procharged 350z.. we ran 3 times but only had 1 good run

Race 1: about a 60 roll I got to honk 3 times.. 350 jumps the gun.... I let off

Race 2: about a 40 roll; I forget to drop it inot third and take traction off wacko.gif , 3 honks he jumps out I start to catch up, he misses 3rd..... so ill take the win..

Final run: this time I drop the car to third and turn on comp. driving mode, honk 3 times we hit it ( he said he hesistated since I was auto) anyway we pretty much run dead even till about 120, then shut it down before we reach traffic

overall I was very happy with the cars performace, and If we had kept going I think I would have passed him.

my only mods are a blackwing intake and TSP Lt's with no cats.... I will be getting a re tune within the next couple of weeks as well.

anyway we are going to run again and tape it this time... we both agreed from a dig the C5 would have too much of an advantage so it will be from a roll again..

BTW here is the dyno graph if anyone is interested, it was done on a dyno dynamics which typically reads 10-15% lower than a dyno jet, so I was very pleased with the numbers

Sounds like you had fun.

BTW with those mods you really should not need to turn off traction control at 40 MPH. With an A4 downshift to 3rd isn't required since the A4 will downshift to the correct gear at WOT any way. You really need to have your PCM re-programmed to optimze shift points. GM's 'stock' programming does not optimize performance; it optimizes comfort.

Good runs on the 350 Z. specool.gif

That's a nice gain with the header.

thanks for the info, for some reason my car lags very badly when I dont drop it into third... I def need to get the PCM re-programmed

but you are probaly correct, looking back on the last run we were probably going over 40 mph before we started because the car launched better than the other 2 races...

also as for traction I had just put on new tires and they were not broken in at all, so they were spinning causing the traction control to kick on.....

on a side note maybe someone here can help me out, I put new rear tires on my car, but left on the fronts... I had them mounted at a local shop and I noticed later that the car felt awfull,

I can not take a turn to save my life, the steering feels non responsive, and the car feels like its going to understear when even slighlty pushed... any ideas as to what could be wrong? the local vette shop is booked till the weekend.

Did you change the width of the rear tires?

nope, tires are the same size as the stock run flats

Did they inflate the new tires to the right pressure?

yea I checked them its really odd, hopefully the shop can figure it out

I wonder if it has something to do with the heavy sidewall run flats on the front and the normal stiffness sidewalls on the rear. Seems like the rears would give more, maybe that would throw off the steering geometry if there was a great difference front to rear in that respect. I'm just speculating, I don't know if this is a real issue or not.
