I got out to California Speedway today for a track day. We ran 2/3s of the Nascar oval, and then dropped into the infield for another mile and a half roadcourse, then back onto the main straight!! It was a blast!!

I know a lot of folks focus on drag racing on this and many other boards, but the roadcourse is a great place to utilize all aspects of a corvette!

I happened to have a 2007 bone stock Z06 in my run group. He told me he had a bit of a high dyno #, 465 RWHP.

He was a very good driver, and ran a number of 1:58 lap times. My best was a 2.00 flat. On the long straights, we ran VERY close from about 60 right up to 153 MPH!

I got a ton of video from different angles today, and put together a sampling.

Its about 8 minutes long, and may take a bit of time to download, depending on your internet speed, but I for one think it's worth the wait.

Great vid as always, there is a NASCAR track in the works here in Idaho called War Eagle. Hopefully it will have an infield road corse like California, Daytona.
