I took the goat out for a little drive, MMOB, and had to take a detour from my normal route because of some road work. At first I was pissed because I didn't want to go this far out of my way, but as soon as I got to the next main road a new model 'stang with a shaker hood and a loud exhaust roared through the intersection right in front of me. Seeing how he was going my way...I quickly caught up to him and slowly passed him while looking over his car. He looked at me and immediately gave me a big rev to let me know he was game. I punched it for him and he jumped out behind me at WOT. We took it from about 55 to 110 and he was hanging tough. I slowed and he came up and gave me the thumbs up which I returned. Traffic was light so we lined up again at 60 and punched it. This time he pulled me about 3 cars to 110 or so. We both slowed and exchanged thumbs up again and started talking...he had a fully built motor with a turbo and said something about 600 hp (it was hard to hear him). He said he was on low boost the first time, but had to turn it up to beat me. Not sure if he was at full power or not, but he didn't destroy me like a fully built turboed v8 should've (IMHO). I mean, I've had nearly stock c5 z06's pull me like that from a high roll. If I had a fully built turbo v8 motor...it better pull better than that. Nice guy though...he was very complimentary of the goat. Said it was very fast and a very cool car. He also said he had a Lightning that was faster than his mustang...at least from a dig. I think I would've had him from a dig...seemed like it took some time to spool up. Oh well, can't win them all.

Well, if you already know you are going to win every contest it is no fun.

But still, it adds a lot of interest when you are not sure what the outcome will be in advance, so an occasional loss keeps it exciting overall.

Next time what you want to do is at the hit just slam your car into his. That'll learn 'im.

You're right...it would be boring if I knew I was going to win them all. That's why I bought a fat-ass GTO! Have to keep it interesting.

I thought I had one on the hook a few weeks ago I was in the middle lane on a 3 lane road with a car in front of me and this new Stang comes up close behind me.

It was early on a Saturday morning and was very little traffic.
The Stang pulls over in the right lane and hammers it passing both me and the car ahead of me.

When he looks over to pull into the center lane I was in the left lane braking hard to keep from passing him.

When saw me and realized it was the car that he had blow-ed past he shut it OFF.
