Has anyone else experienced this. I pull up to a stop light and a young guy in Mitsubishi 3000GT says "Would you like to show me how underpowered my car is?" I sayed "Sure, I can do that." As soon as the light changes I'm all over it for about one second and then my radar detector goes crazy. It's "Laser". Immediate shutdown and just cruise but nothing happens, no lights, no cop car, nada. A week or so later another young guy in an older Chevy pick-up with dual, loud exhaust wants to play on the interstate. I think, why not. As soon as I punch it..... "laser". Shut down and nothing happens. Here's what I'm thinking. There are some young guys having a laugh at my expense while pointing a laser pen at my radar. No harm, no foul. Just wondering if I'm the only one this has happen to.

Hmmm. Seems like it would be very difficult for someone to hit your radar detector with a laser pen light while they were engaged in a speed contest. Seems to me you are either getting false readings, or you are in fact being scanned by a police laser.

I once drove by a construction site and they were using laser survey equipment and my radar went off. It doesn't have to hit it exact. I've had my detector about 7 or 8 years and the laser sensor has only gone off maybe 5 times but when it does go off it really gets your attention it sounds like an older telephone ringing.

That is pretty odd. I do know brake lights on the Chevy Trailblazer give a false hit on my V1 laser but I'm sure you aren't punching it while a Trailblazer is braking in front of you.
